Cerebras Systems Expands AI Infrastructure Amid UAE’s Stargate Project
Cerebras Systems, a California-based AI chipmaker, is rapidly expanding its global footprint with plans to deploy AI infrastructure in the UAE, India, and Pakistan. The company's ambitious Stargate UAE project in Abu Dhabi aims to become the world's largest AI data center cluster outside the US, spanning 10 square miles and set to begin operations in 2026.
Despite raising $1.1 billion in funding and eyeing an IPO, Cerebras faces regulatory hurdles as shipment of its systems depends on US export licenses. The Middle East's growing appetite for large-scale AI infrastructure is evident, with early development phases already attracting bids from power equipment manufacturers and cooling technology suppliers.
